Never mind any other tire..hooked on Com.3s
I have approximately 3500 miles on my brand new michelin commander threes. Several years ago I moved from metzler tires to michelin commander 2s for the longevity. This year's tire replacement I chose to go with the new commander 3s. They have performed even better then the 2s. Their performance on rough roads including uneven pavement is a definite improvement from the already stellar performance I've experienced. At 3500 miles the tread wear looks barely broken in yet grips the road and dry and damp pavement. I have yet to experience heavy rain as we haven't had any but I'm sure they will out perform the commander 2s in every area as they already have. The only constructive criticism I could make is the break in period Is somewhere around 700 to a 1000 miles. However I anticipated that, with longer tread life and a harder rubber compound it takes a little bit more time to break the tires in. For a motorcycle rider who cares if you're on the road and in the wind you're having a great time. Last weekend I took my 2007 Harley Davidson road king with the michelin commander threes to the backwoods of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. There at a higher rate of speed they performed flawlessly on the back roads including switch backs and high speed curves. I will only buy these tires and recommend them to more friends than I already have.

Wow!
I’ve put about 5 thousand miles since I put the commander III on and so far after all the years of riding and many kinds of tires ... these are hands down the best I’ve ever experienced. I do a lot of wet riding and there is a beautiful canyon I ride as often as I can .... extreme twisties, hair pin rights and lefts, gravel, pot holes, usually wet With leaves sometimes and grass when they mow the shoulders ... and I’m on a V-Twin. My bike came with Dunlop Elite 3 and after about 3 k miles I had to switch them out ... they wouldn’t grip slipped all over the place ... absolutely had no confidence on my rides let alone steep leans ... even around town. The roads here eat tires very fast ... they put ground glass mixed into the asphalt... and so far after 5k miles the tires show no wear whatsoever... so we’ll see how long they last. I do have one request of Michelin... actually begging... please please make them in a white wall! I’ve got no problem paying extra for those.

Commander III Cruiser
Feb 2020 put a pair of the Commander III Cruiser on my wifes fatboy and on my street glide. So far loving the ride and handling. Time will tell on the wear. Cant comment on the longevity. Only been 4 months but cannot skip the stars for longevity below. So ill hope a five star.

The best tire I have ever ridden on.
I purchased these tires in January of 2020 but couldn't have them installed until March due to bad weather here in N.E. Ohio. When I picked up my 2012 Heritage Soft Tail after having the tires installed the roads were wet from the melting snow and the temp. was 36 degrees.Even though I couldn't scuff the tires up on dry pavement I could feel the difference in handling. The bike was stable on the straights and in the turns. After the weather broke I was able to get aggressive and the Commander III's preformed flawlessly. Even on grooved pavement the bike rode as though it was on smooth asphalt..I have had the "opportunity" to ride in a few down pours and I had no problem with hydroplaning or control of the bike. Even the painted surfaces on the roads are no match for this tire.I knew Michelin made great tires for motorcycles but I didn't think they could be this good.

Excellent Tires
These tires are excellent. Very good grip and ride quality. I am extremely happy with my tire purchase!

Best tire I have had
Within 100 miles of installing a front and rear tire I got caught in rain, sleet, and snow and the tires performed better then expected, the tires grip amazingly in high speed leans on the Twisties, I will be purchasing these tires for the foreseeable future

Commander 111
I thought the commander 11 were good but the new commander 111 are even better. Definitely be getting another set when the time comes

easy handling, planted to the road, almost glued. confidence!!!
Some 3 months and 2000 miles ago, I have installed Michelin Commander III on my Indian Scout. Oh boy what an improvement, over stock Kendas. I had chosen to replace Kendas, for finding out a beginning of dry rot in few places in front tire thread in the contact patch, with 7000 miles. Thread depth was somewhere at the half only, tire was 2 years old, but this dry rot scared me away. I usually see dry rot on the sidewall of very old tires, like 10-15 years old. Michelin Commander III was my choice, due to numerous good reviews of previous model, Commander II and the reliable brand name since ever. Michelin Commander III feels well planted and have far superior grip than my previous tire. They also have round shape, compared to flat shape of rear Kenda tire. Michelin Commander III balanced easy, less weight than previous tire, motorcycle feels lighter, has so much more maneuverability, and goes straight like an arrow, no pull when I let go of governor bars. Its interesting that I found Michelin Commander III front tire throws less gravel to the cooler, even maybe none, it seems due to thread pattern design. I didn’t have chance to ride Michelin Commander III in the rain yet, and for longevity, I would update this review next year, when I expect to put some 10k miles on Michelin Commander III tires. Bottom line: I like Michelin, I like Michelin Commander III.
