Mixed feelings about PSS tires

I bought Pilot Super Sport 255/40/R19 tires 7 years ago, but I do not use my car much in a summer. For 7 years I made exactly 35,000 KM (about 22K Miles). Over the weekend, replaced my wheels to Winter set and discovered my Pilot Super Sport has significant issue. The thread started to separate. All tires have very extensive wear on the inside edge of the tire (about 2 cm edge) and the rest of the threads is very good. It appeared to me the design issue. Looks like Audi A8 is pretty heavy for those tires, and yet, Pilot Super Sport has the right load index. My winter tires are already 55K KM with identical wear on all threads! Other than that, tires hold the road good! Only this year I could feed slight vibration. Now I know why.

Wanted a tire for the occasional wet conditions

Perform as advertised with excellent grip. Noise levels as expected with a run flat high performance tire. Excellent asthetics!

quality summer sport tire

Bought as a sport summer tire. Performs well in rain also. Has a confidence you can trust. Have done 6 track days and the tire shoulders are showing sign of wear, but looks normal. Lots of life for street use.

Sharp and Stable

I just had a set of Super Sports put on my Audi A3 over APR rims. These tires have almost no rolling resistance. Great turn in and high speed stability.

Great Grip - noticeable noise on EV

I have a Model Y. Within 6 months I've had 3 flats and during the holidays I could not get a replacement. I had to replace all 4 tires. After searching around, I decided to get these so I could just drive by a shop for a replacement in the future. On the plus side, these tires provide fantastic traction, decent tread life, and are easily replaceable. For a normal car I'd say they are perfect. For an EV, there is road noise that you can hear that wasn't there with the continental EV tires. Looking forward to trying another EV focused tire in the future.

21,096 KM and outer tread blocks cracking

Purchased in 2015 and after 21,096km, I discovered deep cracking on outer tread block of of the tires (Super Sports). Tires/alloys are removed for winter and stored in installed garage and still cracked/split. Very disappointed and after buy all Michelin tires (summer and winter) for my 4 BMW's, I am now looking for a new tire brand.

Super Sports on my Super Sport

Just replaced the stock Goodyear Eagle F1’s on my SS Camaro after just 20k miles. So far the Michelin SS’s are great no complaints period. Thanks Michelin.
