Great tire for winter in Alberta, Canada
Bought these tires in 2020 and have used them through now a second winter ( albeit just starting) but I must say what really stands out is the performance on ice. When the season starts, I like to come to a complete stop and start to see "how bad it is out there" and compared to my previous brand of tires, the stopping power and take off has been the best so far. They produce very little noise when on pavement and handle very well in dry conditions including wet.
Terrible! Replaced them after a week!
I am a long-term Michelin fan. When I buy tires for my cars, I always buy Michelin. I had to replace the Michelin X-Ice 3 winter tires on my 2016 Mercedes E400 wagon. (I love the X-Ice 3 and their predecessors -- ran them on all of our cars in winter.) Chose the X-Ice Snow as the replacements because they are the natural successor to X-Ice 3. Big mistake! The X-Ice Snow were unstable at speeds over 70 km/h -- even the smallest movement in the steering wheel resulted in a fear-inducing wobble. It was like the car was rolling its ankle. No confidence. We use this car to drive to Lake Louise to ski every weekend -- about 400 km return. After one trip, I had it. I had the X-Ice Snow removed and replaced with Michelin Pilot Alpin. After that, no issues. AVOID THE X-ICE SNOW.

Comfort and quietness
I’ve had Ice-X in a previous vehicle and was very happy with its performance in the snow. I just had this set installed on a newer vehicle and it seems as smooth and quiet as my summer tires.
Hydroplaning
I have used every iteration of X-ICE tires and have been completely satisfied with their performance in all conditions. I recently installed a brand to set of X-ICE Snow on an Infiniti EX35 and traveled through the mountains in southern BC during heavy rain and wet snow. The hydroplaning was somewhat unnerving and unexpected. I'm guessing the removal of circumferential groves near the center of the tire may be the cause. I have not had the opportunity to drive with these in snow or icy condition but from previous experience, I will assume they will perform very well. Apologies for the poor rating on this one aspect of the tires but will update my review when I have an opportunity to experience the full range of these tires. Note: My previous X-ICE tires did not have the same hydroplaning issues under the same conditions.

Great in wet weather
I just put these tires on my Crosstrek, and while I have not had a chance to use them on snow, I have used them in torrential rains here in BC, and they are great for avoiding hydro planning. I was impressed.
So far, great tire
Well, we should have had snow out here, but none. Not even rain. So only commenting on dry road performance. Ride is good with no objectionable tire noise. We have had one panic brake episode due to deer. Forester slowed down quickly with no control issues. ABS was not cycling, but must have been close. Looking forward to see how this tire performs in nasty weather.
X Ice tires
I just put a set of these on my CT5V. Now I’m no fan of winter, but I’m looking forward to how a RWD performance sedan will be with these hoofs.

Excellent all weather traction
Bought these for my Macan before the winter season in Colorado. The tires performed excellently in the snow, slush and ice. They're also a very good (4 stars) handling tire on dry roads.
