Review Summary

The Michelin X-Ice Snow tires provide excellent traction, grip, and control on icy and snowy roads, allowing for safe and confident driving in harsh winter conditions. Customers report the tires offer a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride. While a few users noted issues with hydroplaning in heavy rain or slush, and some experienced premature wear or sidewall problems, the majority of reviews are very positive, with customers highly recommending these winter tires.

I recommend this tire

Amazing tires!

The snow we’ve experienced this season in Alberta has been a lot. I’ve been extremely impressed with the quality of the Michelin x ice snow tires that I purchased. We’ve also had a crazy amount of ice and again the traction is amazing. I’ve had 0 problems all winter with them. Highly recommend this brand

Great wet handling, quiet, grip on packed snow and ice

Purchased a full set for my 2017 Ram Promaster FWD work van. Put them on in late October as the wet and cold weather hits the Pacific Northwest. They grip well going uphill in wet conditions from a stop (particularly downtown seattle's hills). Stop short on wet roads without the ABS kicking in. They feel a little softer in the sidewalls than my summer tires when cornering or changing lanes, just a bit squishy/slow to react. I increased the air pressure to 40psi to compensate. Handled great in compact and fresh snow/slush, very little spin, even on an incline. Braking is the most impressive feature. Many collisions avoided. Safety is priceless. We will see how many seasons they last (4-5+). There is no weather-related excuse not to get to a jobsite with these tires, but you may be the only one that gets there!

Very good snow tires

I have had Michelin X-Ice for a good number of years now and they get me through he winter. I buy mine at Costco in Ontario. Because I sometimes want deep enough tread for traction to plow thru several inches of unplowed roads, I change winter tires every 4 years or so. The tread left is still good to get thru the winter but I want the utmost traction which is why I buy new ones every 4 years or so. However, I highly doubt these tires or any other snow tire will last 12 seasons as one reviewer mentioned. It may not be safe to do so.

No comfort

I've had the x-ice xi3 for 5 years and they were perfect in the snow and such a smooth ride so I decided to purchase their new x ice snow tires. The x snow tires had a hard bearing and is anything but a smooth ride.

good tires

Bought at COSTCO, used for 11 seasons in Edmonton, Alberta, where the winter season is up to 7 months. Run about 120.000 KM. Last two seasons was driving more careful because tires where worn but still working. I would definitely recommend this tires.

Outstanding in all conditions

I have had three sets of X-Ice's on a Chevy Malibu, Mercedes GLA45 and a Subaru Impreza. What makes me keep coming back is the fact that they handle well not only in the snow but in the dry and even in warm weather. When you travel from Colorado through Utah and to Las Vegas your temps can change from below zero to 80's, heavy snow to sunny and dry all in the same trip. The Michelins perform well at any temps, any altitude and any road conditions I have encountered. I left them on during this past summer on my Impreza before I traded it and the dealer wanted them on rather than the OEM's. I am thinking about getting them for my new Hyundai Kona. If you want a tire than can function well in a wide range of conditions this is it. BTW, I drive at least 30,000 miles per year for work and pleasure.

Very good winter tires!! I feel the advancement!

Recently had to purchase new winter tires to drive through the mountains (by-law). I’ve never heard of Michelin X-Ice Snow and I was expecting myself to purchase X-Ice3 set. I searched up the tires the parts and service at Honda told me they had chosen to put on my Odyssey and I found out it was their latest generation X-Ice tire. It felt so good driving through the mountains! I live in a very snowy and icy city and I felt like I was driving on dry roads, it’s actually absurd. I’m confident in these tires after driving on them for a month now.
