Best snow tire I've owned
I have a very steep long driveway and a heavy rear wheel drive car. In the past I have owned performance snow tires which always struggled to get me up the driveway with even a coating of snow on the ground. I have had no problems getting up my driveway this winter with these tires. I even had a day when the driveway was covered with a layer of ice and I feared I wouldn't make it up, but to my surprise I was able to get up the driveway with the TCS only coming on a couple times.

Quality & Handling
First off I want to thank Michelin for their Hydro Edge and X-ice tires. 16" wheels do fit on 2003 Mercedes E320 sport models with air ride, DTS, ABS and traction control. Combined with the air ride suspension, they felt a bit spongy for the first week or so. The ride on the freeway is smooth, confident and quiet. A 300 mile trip still gave 29 MPG. On steep inclines and untreated pavement after the first snow event, there was no dramatic tire spinning or sliding while turning or stopping. Accelerating from a standstill was positive and without excessive traction control assist. Impressed with traction qualities and handling on icy roads. The standard rear wheel drive Mercedes, combined with the X-ice tires were way above what I expected. You won't look like the ill prepared driver stuck in the snow with these!

Excellent tire
I put xi2 tires on my 2012 Volvo s60 The next day we had 8 inches of snow. My car had no problem I was doing 40mph no slipping.I then hit the brakes hard and the car came to a stop with even sliding .Hands down best winter tire .

Very nice tires on snow and ice
I have used these tires on my Think City EV on 2-3 inches of slush and ice. I bought 4 new 175/65R-14 Michelin X-Ice Xi2 tires for winter driving. These are a must if you need to drive in snow or ice. I bought them because somebody told me they were "as good as studded tires, without the studs" So far with them I can do pretty well in 3-4 inches of iced over snow. My driveway is not very steep, maybe 2' of rise over 25', The original stock tires will not pull the car up the slope at all. I had to get a good running start to even get it up the driveway. The new tires will pull right up the snow packed ice with still a bit of extra traction. My wife drove the car past some 4x4's stuck along side the road in the ice, so I suspect they are very good solution for someone that wants winter and summer tires with no studs. They are low rolling resistance and have good ride and wear characteristics and will work all year around if necessory. Johnny

Awesome.
In Minnesota, we get quite a mix of weather conditions. I drive on dry highway, icy county roads, and my oftentimes unplowed side road. These tires make it so I can barely tell the difference between the three. I cannot stop bragging about these tires to people. my wife is sick of me talking about how much I love them. What a world of difference they make, I']m sticking with Michelins.
