GreenPower Compound. High-efficiency rubber compound on the shoulders reduces energy consumption for longer ranges and delivers long-lasting mileage despite the heavier weight of high-performance Electric Vehicles.

GreenBelt. Thinner top belts use less energy and material without losing strength, which reduces raw materials used and improves rolling resistance.

Acoustic Technology. A custom-designed polyurethane foam solution muffles noise resonance which allows the drivers and passengers to benefit fully from hands-free communication devices while lessening driver fatigue on long drives. Acoustic technology even dampens interior noise when driving on changing road conditions.

Warranties

Standard Limited Warranty

All MICHELIN® tires have a Standard Manufacturer's Limited Warranty, which covers defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or for 6 years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first.

*Mileage Warranty Exceptions

Split fitments – If your vehicle has tires of different sizes on the front versus the rear axles, your tires cannot be rotated as recommended. Therefore, the mileage warranty on each rear tire will cover half the number of kilometres as the standard mileage warranty for that particular tire line. ZP (Zero Pressure) tires – The maximum mileage warranty for ZP tires is 50,000 kilometres.

MICHELIN® PILOT® SPORT EV - FAQ

Is the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire a summer, winter, or all-season tire?

MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV is a summer tire and a new member of the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport family.  It is designed for Electric Vehicles (EV), including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), equipping both Passenger Car and CUV/SUV.

How long does MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire last?

Performance that lasts has always been at the core of Michelin’s products. Long Lasting tires provide not only longevity but also robustness and safety until the end of life. It is difficult to give an average mileage due to the influence of the driving behavior and the vehicle which play a key role.

Is the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire noisy ?

MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV is a quiet tire thanks to MICHELIN® Acoustic technology which contributes to reduce the perceived noise in the cabin by 20%* [Internal noise measurement, done in 2016 on size 245/45 R19 on KIA Cadenza. Noise level measured on the range "170-230Hz". Results may vary according to vehicle, tire range and size, speed, and road conditions]

What is the snow performance for the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire?

MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV is a summer tire and not marked 3PMSF (Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake). During wintertime, Michelin recommends mounting Winter or All-Season tires, such as MICHELIN® Pilot® Alpin5 or MICHELIN® CrossClimate®2.

Is the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire directional?

MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV  tire is an asymmetric tire, which facilitates the tire rotation on the car to optimize longevity.

What is the difference between MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV and MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport 5 (or MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport 4 SUV or MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport 4)?

The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire has been developed to meet the technical demands of electric vehicles and is tailor-made for each to reach Car Enthusiast expectations.  Compared to other summer tires in the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport family, the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV tire provides lower rolling resistance to maximize range, immediate grip to meet the intense demands from the transmission and better noise reduction by using MICHELIN® Acoustic technology.

>> The sizes shown are average design values for tires measured on specified measuring rim widths.  Some tires may vary from this value by +/-3% of the section height (affecting overall diameter), and +/-4% of the section width.
>> Section width varies approximately 0.2" (5mm) for every 0.5" change in rim width.
>> Tread patterns are often tuned to accomodate different tire widths.  Tires for a particular dimension of a given tireline may vary in appearance from the tire shown in the photograph.

WARNING: Serious or fatal injury may result from tire failure due to underinflation or overloading. To ensure correct air pressure and vehicle load, refer to vehicle owner's manual or tire information placard on the vehicle. Serious injury or death may result from explosion of tire/rim assembly due to improper mounting. Only tire professionals should mount tires and they should never inflate beyond 40 psi  to seat the beads.  Before mixing types of tires in any configuration on any vehicle, be sure to check the vehicle owner's manual for its recommendations.

DANGER:  Never mount a 17" diameter tire on a 17.5" rim.

Inflation pressure increase must not exceed the maximum pressure branded on the tire sidewall.  When a customer requests a replacement tire with a lower speed rating than the original equipment tire, you must clearly communicate to him or her that the handling of the vehicle may be different, and that its maximum speed capability is limited to that of the lowest speed-rated tire on the vehicle.  Exceeding the lawful speed limit is neither recommended nor endorsed.

For high-speed driving, additional inflation pressure and possibly reduced tire loading and/or upsizing is required.  In the absence of specific recommendations by the vehicle manufacturer, use the following guidelines based on those in the European Tyre and Rim Technical Organization Standards Manual.

For speeds over 160km/h (100 mph), load and inflation must be adjusted according to the table below.
