The Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires are generally well-regarded for their smooth, quiet ride quality, impressive traction in various weather conditions, and long tread life. However, some customers have reported issues with excessive road noise, premature tread wear, and vibration problems. Overall, the tires appear to provide excellent performance and value for most users.

Love'm

Best tires I've ever purchased! I put them on both of my Tacomas and I'm on my second set on my current daily driver. I get close to 100k miles on each set. Yes, I rotate them and run the appropriate tire pressure as scheduled. The handling of my truck in adverse weather is so much better with my Michelin Defender LTX M/S...even in hurricane rain they grip the road while other vehicles are hydroplaning

When Excellence is your only option

I have been an Undercarriage Specialist for a number of years. I've worked for several major tire companies and a few new car dealerships. I've been involved in the design of custom off-road and race track suspensions. I understand the geometry and physics of achieving maximum performance from a tire. Most importantly, I've experienced the quality and performance of many brands of tires. From my early years as a Front End Alignment mechanic, I noticed the Michelin Tire presented the least amount of problems and failures, and always has. In the long run, Michelin is the most inexpensive form of safety and reliability I could purchase.

Tie noise

The Michelin Defenders 265 50r 20 tires on my 2014 jeep grand cherokee make a lot of noise. I am really disappointed with that part of the tire. I have been using Michelin tires on my vehicles for over 20 years and will continue to do so. Help me out Michelin what is going on with the noisy ti

Traveling long distance with trailer

Needed quality tire for long distance travel hauling travel trailer. Smooth, quiet ride with good tread design for good all weather traction and long wear. Confident this will work.

Well made tire

I have been employed by Ford dealer for many years and have experience with many different tire brands. Michelin tires have always been the best built tires in my experience. The initial quality is very consistent.Today I installed 4 MICHELIN® Defender® LTX® M/S 245/65R17 tires on my 2008 Ford Explorer. I used Hunter GSP9700 balancer. All tires had Road Force Measurement less than 11 lbs. By moving tires on the rim, I managed to drop Road Force Measurements to 2 lbs,9 lbs, 4 lbs and 8 lbs and matched front tires to 0 lbs Net Pull. And this is pretty heavy truck tire. The Road Force limit for P-metric and Euro-metric tires is 26 lbs.

Excellent performance!!!!

I was hesitant to go with the Defender because of the great ride i have been getting with the Latitude Tour HD, however the Defender LTX M/S really has an excellent ride and no road noise. Glad I gave it a chance.....

Absolutely Love These Tires!

Everything dealer told me they would be. Ride better than Lattitude Tours that were original, got 65k wear out of those, however these ride great, way better, very noticeable and smoother, quieter, ride like a dream! No complaints, my 5th or 6th pair of new Michelins, these are brand new line, they rock! Feel great about my decision, very happy.
