Review Summary
The tires provide excellent performance, grip, and longevity. They offer great traction in both dry and wet conditions and handle well at high speeds. Many users report the tires are an improvement over the previous model, with better grip and longer-lasting wear. However, some customers have experienced vibration or humming noises from the front tire, particularly at certain speeds. A few users also reported premature tire wear or blowouts, though these appear to be less common issues. Overall, the tires offer a good balance of performance, handling, and durability, but the vibration problem should be addressed.

5k Miles
I had all the positivity in the world with these tires after installation. My Dunlop tires that came factory from Harley Davison were terrible in the rain and lost tread within the first 5000 miles. So the commander three claimed that it could last up to 12,000 miles and that sounded so much better on my wallet. They had seemed to be doing very well and now I’ve hit the 5000 mile mark where I have an odd worn patch in the middle with wires showing. So much for 12k miles.
Hi Austin, thank you for your review! Many factors may impact the longevity of a tire including road surface, improper air pressure affecting the geometry of the contact patch, and riding style placing unusual forces on the contact patch. Riding on straight highways may lead to faster wear on the center of your tire. If however, you are looking for optimal performance and durability, Michelin always recommends using the air pressure recommended by the motorcycle manufacturer for your specific year / make / model.

Unsure...
After going through a set of Commander II tires (28k+km) I was hesitant on buying the 3's because of the mixed reviews (vibrations & noise) I went ahead and installed the 3's and could't be happier. No vibrations, smooth confident ride and sticks to the road. Had several rainy rides and very happy with these. Time will tell if theses will break the 30k mark compared to the II's. My only quibble for the II's was a cupping wear that got noisy. If you where like me hesitating, go ahead and do it.

Feels like I am riding
I have to say it feels like I am riding on air. This is only the 2nd vehicle I have bought brand new off showroom floor. Both came with Michelin tires and both were nothing short of outstanding. When it comes to handling, stopping and motoring down the highway it is as if I am riding on a cloud. They are outstanding.
Hi , thank you for your review! We love to hear about your positive experiences with our tires. Thank you for choosing Michelin!

90/90 x 21 vs 120/70 x 21
I ride a 2005 Softtail Standard in an MC. We ride fast and hard and put a lot of miles on our bikes. I currently have 150 x 16 rear Commander III Cruiser rear and 100/90 x 21 Commander II front I am very pleased with them. The road grip is great, stopping and cornering great, no Issues in the rain so far. My previous Dunlops were pitiful in the rain, sideways twice at 70+ but recovered ok. This was in a pack going almost straight. I am getting ready for a new front tire obviously the Commander III Cruiser. How much advantage in wet handling and stopping power would be gained in an upgrade to a 21 x 3.5 wheel so I can run a 120/70 x 21 tire? If I am not mistaken, the 120/70 x 21 only comes in a touring tire. Would this not be a wise choice considering the expense? I haven't had these tires but about 5K miles so I cant really speak of the longevity

New to Michelin
Got the Michelin commander 3 about 1000k miles ago. So far the first 200 were break in now they are great. Only question I have heard there are the only motorcycle tire with a guarantee???? Can't find any quarantee???
Thank you for your feedback. MICHELIN motorcycle tires are not covered by a regular mileage guarantee. However, used in normal service on the vehicle on which they were originally fitted and in accordance with the maintenance recommendations and safety warnings contained in the owner’s manual (https://motorcycle.michelinman.com/motorbike/faq-motorbike), they are covered by a limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original usable tread, or six years from date of purchase, whichever occurs first. At that time, all warranties, express or implied, expire. Replacement will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions described under “How Replacement Charges are Calculated” within the warranty booklet.

Terrible Customer Service In Canada
This isn't about your tires. It's about the lack of service here in Canada. For Motorcycle Tires, the link from the Canadian website takes you to the website for the USA, but then doesn't tell you. Then if you click "Promotions" it gives you American Promotions. Now of course for some odd reason the American promotions aren't run in Canada, and catch this, there is almost no way to verify that! If you call the 1800 number you reach people that have NO IDEA about what is being done on Motorcycle Tires. Then you are given phone number after phone number that have nothing to do with Canadian Motorcycle tires. Eventually you end up getting to a USA representative who is the first person in about 3 hours of phone time to confirm what you are saying is right. For such a great brand with such great reviews of the Command 3 Cruiser tire, how badly the ball is being dropped in Canada on your sales and marketing side is a crime. As a sales and marketing executive, I can't believe how many sales must be being lost as a result of this. Probably the worst customer service of any Canadian Motorcycle Tire presence I have seen. It's hard enough to engineer a great tire with great reviews. Can't believe that the Canadian Sales and Marketing has let you down this badly.

Vibration
It has a vibration it starts in about 30 miles an hour you can feel it coming through the handlebars And foot pegs and I see on Harley fourm there are several people having the same problem I don’t know Michelin will stand behind him

Excellent grip
My cruiser came with Dunlop tires they were horrible. After I put the Commander III's on I had no more vibration at high speed and firm grip on the windy roads I love these tires!

SO FAR, SO GOOD
What a difference these tires made on my '07 V Star 1100 Classic. These tires made my bike handle like new again. Great dry and wet traction, great handling. These will certainly be replacing the Dunlop D404's on my Vulcan Drifter.

There is a need to expand the Commander III line to fit more big bikes
My 2008 VN1600D Nomad uses --- front - 150/80-16M/C 71H and a rear 170/70B-16 M/C 75H Unfortunately there are no such Commander III's. I the past (on a different bike) I have ridden Commanders and Commander II's . Great tires. I'm sure the III is even better. Hopefully Michelin managers will expand their Commander Cruiser & Touring line. I only gave a one as it is mandatory category - I have no tires - no experience.
