Review Summary

The tires provide good handling, traction, and longevity for many users, with excellent performance in both dry and wet conditions. However, some customers experienced issues like premature wear, cupping, vibrations, and complete tire failure, which they found dangerous. The tires seem to offer a balance of grip and mileage for many riders, but some had negative experiences that made them unwilling to purchase the tires again.

Excellent tires!!

I installed both Michelin Commander II tires on 2002 Suzuki Volusia, I noticed a huge difference from former Metzeler ME880 tires. No longer feel 'skittery' on wet road. I throttled up in increment to 65mph during rain and it still sticks!! I leans easy during wet road and it did not slips. I love this tires and bought 2nd pair after 1st worn out in 12,000 miles (on rear). Make sure tire psi follows motorcycle's psi requirement.

Best tire for me.

I own a 2004 Harley Heritage Softail, I have tried every tire from A to Z and for my money the Commander 2 has been the best rear tire of them all. Living in Wisconsin gives me all the weather conditions to ride in, this tire in my opinion has the longest life of all rear tires on the market with comparable handling from tar melting heat to snow. I have been getting 12,000+ mi. which for me means I only need to purchase and mount 1 a year. Compared to original rear tire that Harley had which was 7,500 and tire was thread bare at that. My bike just turned 160,000 this 11/2020 so believe me when I say it was a blessing when I first discovered the Michelin Commander 2 for my motorcycle, by the way I also run the same model tire on the front of bike and normally it will last me over 25,000mi depending on how hard I've used the front brake....too many whitetale deer to avoid...lol Rear tire 150/80/16 Front 130/90/16 Thanks Michelin for a great tire, with a reasonable price. Rear Tire came apart

Would not recommend this Tire had less than 4000 miles on it when I noticed it was cracking and coming apart very dangerous

Great set of tires

I had the Michelin Commander II's put on my 03 Road King and got better cornering performance and they lasted longer than the stock Dunlops did. Going to put a new set of these on my new bike.

Changed review

I wrote a review a couple of days ago as PaulC. I thought I had a terrible front tire. Turned out I had a low rear tired due to a nail I must have run over on the way out of getting front installed. The timing lead me to think handling problems were due to new front. I was wrong. I am loving the tire now.

Not impressed

Got the rear tire first and have been satisfied with it. But the front tire. Very on stable. Can’t hold a line. Shifts around on a curve. I would take them off if I could afford to.

Poor longevity

Bought these tires for my 2013 HD Fatboy because I was tired of getting less than 7,000 miles on a set of Dunlops. Bought based on the hype they would go up to 25,000 miles. Figured if I even got close I would be money ahead. They have less than 7,000 miles on them and I'm at the 1/32" point where they have to be repe extra money to get the same performance.
