Review Summary
The Michelin Defender 2 tires offer a mix of positive and negative attributes. Positives include excellent grip and handling, especially in wet and snowy conditions, a smooth and quiet ride, and long tread life and durability. However, some customers have reported decreased fuel efficiency, a rough and bumpy ride quality, and premature wear not meeting the warranty. Overall, the tires provide good traction and handling, but customers should be aware of the potential impact on fuel economy and ride quality.

Smooth ride
Gives my suv a smooth, quiet ride

Tire are quiet and ride well.

No flats, haven't lost any air

Can't do better than Michelin tires
These are true all-weather tires. Excellent traction for their first winter driving on ice and snow. If they live up to their expected life--80k miles, they'll be a great value

Excellent ride!
Very quiet and smooth ride! Like riding on air! Feel very safe with these tires on my car!

Good ride. Surprisingly my gas mileage went down 2 miles per gallon from the Michelin Privacy tires I had on from the factory. My vehicle is a 2022 Ford Maverick hybrid.

Great durablitlity
Purchased this on another car and loved the quality

Won’t buy again, don’t trust them to grip when needed.
Had to replace 2 of my T&H tires on a 2015 Sienna FWD. Traction off the line especially if wet is terrible. Because they put them on the back for h first few months it was too late to take back. Traction on these is worse than my fairly worn older tires. Who cares about how long they last if they don’t work well enough to grip. Tried to see what they would do about it and same answer of take it back to where you bought them. Don’t plan to use Michelin anymore.
We’re sorry to hear the Defender 2 tires didn’t meet expectations for wet traction. Tire performance can be affected by several factors, which is why Michelin asks that traction concerns be evaluated by an authorized tire dealer. An inspection allows the dealer to review the tires and vehicle together and contact Michelin if assistance may be appropriate. Best tires ever!
These are the smoothest tires we have ever had.

Wear evenly, and I always get my mileage's worth
Michelin, the best tire on the market. I have had other brands on cars I have purchased, but once I needed new tires, it was a michelin, hands down!
