No regrets here

Comments about Pilot Alpin PA4:

Living in Montreal means snow, slush and ice. For the everyday commuter that wants to maximize safety and stoping distance on such conditions, I find the x-ice series to be much better. However, these alpines are much smoother, quieter and handles great at high speeds. If you drive a sports car then this is actually a good choice if you have awd. I find that it grips well enough for acceleration and cornering, but lacks when braking on ice. Did not have problems with snow or slush. Even on dry conditions, runs smoother than some summers or all seasons.

Thrilled!

Comments about Pilot Alpin PA4:

Michelin is my "go to" tire, currently I have the Pilot Sport for summer and the PA4 for winter on my '13 STI, and LTX on my '01 Chevy 2500HD. I had the PA3 on my '02 BMW 525T; the PA4 takes that concept to warp factor 9. If you're looking for a cushier ride then you're better off with the Xi3, but for a performance application and solid grip under all conditions, the PA4 is hard to beat, in my opinion...

PA4

Comments about Pilot Alpin PA4:

Garbage. Do not buy these tires. I did a lot of research on what I was going to get for my 2015 VW GTI, and these seemed to fit the profile.. Weather type, typical winter road conditions, etc. I slide around turns in my own parking lot (approx 10 km/h), and I have difficulty pulling away from traffic lights. I wouldn't recommend these tires to anyone.

 • This three-digit number represents the width of the tire in millimeters (mm), measured from sidewall to sidewall. Since this measure is affected by the width of the rim, the measurement is done when the tire is on its intended rim size.

 • The aspect ratio is the relationship of a tire's sidewall height to its section width, expressed as a percentage. In this example, the tire sidewall height is approximately 55% of the tire width.
