Tire Highlights

Variable thickness sipes provide additional biting edges in low–grip conditions to improve wet and snow traction, but lock together in dry conditions to provide crisp handling and longer treadwear.

Unique biting edges in the grooves grip snow for better acceleration and braking in snowy conditions.

Helio compound with sunflower oil helps to increase traction at low temperatures, while X-Sil extreme silica technology provides exceptional wet grip.

Asymetric tread pattern and Variable Contact Patch 2.0 design result in strong dry performance combined with long tread life.

a let down by Michelin

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

have had these tires on my 2013 Cadillac Cts for 14 months now, have approx. 28,000 kms on them. they handle very nice on wet and dry roads, do not run them in winter. The road noise from these tires is terrible, they seem to be getting louder all the time. Don't know if i'll run them to the end because of the noise. In the winter I run Xice3 and find they are quieter running.

Excellent handling but harsh on rough pavement

By ShawnS

from Canada

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

I installed these tires on +2 19" wheels on Standard suspension and I know this attributes to my harsh and bouncy ride.

On smooth and highway driving, the tires are quiet and track straight. Handling in corners and highway on-ramps is very confidence-inducing and never hear the tires squealing or loss of traction.

On city driving, rough pavement, concrete, the ride is very harsh and every imperfection in the road gets transferred to the steering wheel and pedals. When coming to a stop at a red light with rough pavement, the wheels heavily tramline and follow the grooves in the road. If I don't firmly grip the wheel, the car will weave all over. The ride sometimes gets unbearable and I just want to get out of the car. Ride quality seems to be very temperature and tire-pressure dependent.

The tires currently have 30k on them and all corners are down to 4/32. I don't think it's going to make the 70k warranty claim.

Comments about Pilot Sport A/S 3:

Very impressed with it's handling qualities & rubber material used in these Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires. Cannot comment on tread wear just yet as it's still too soon to disclose! Overall if you want good quality as well as that sporty look appearance, buy these because I get complimented on these on the road all the time! At time's I think the ignition is still off while driving when on the road because it is sooooo quiet & gas consumption is amazing! I will never buy any other brand as I've experienced plenty of issues. If I were to mention anything that isn't so great about these, is too bad I can't use these in snow storms. Remember these aren't snow tire's so please people don't put negative reviews on these tires thinking your gonna run on these in the winter!

  • This three-digit number represents the width of the tire in millimeters (mm), measured from sidewall to sidewall. • The aspect ratio is the relationship of a tire's sidewall height to its section width, expressed as a percentage. In this example, the tire sidewall height is approximately 55% of the tire width.
