Had bought the road 6 to replace my RS on 2022 Bmw s1000rr. The road 6 seemed stiff and I called Michelin. They worked with me and I picked up the GP’s. The gp’s are great. Got about 4,500 miles outta rear tire. Swapping the rear out now for another gp. These tires have never had me thinking twice on freeway or in the Southern California canyons. If you’re unsure about this tire, I’m here to tell you it can handle it!!!

A true winner

The discontinued RS series offered a 180/60-17 which profiled superior on a 5.5 wheel compared to a 190/55-17 the GP series replace. With the GP series being more directed as a sport and trackday tire, the 180/60-17 should have continued. The latest batch of 190/55-17 GP's I brought in are wider between the beads and as a result are causing the shoulders of the tread surface to roll over meeting the sidewall on the 5.5 wide wheels.

Please add a180/60 to the GP series

I own a performance bike shop, have 3 techs, 4 track bikes, and this tire works well for fast road sport or track days. They last 4-5000 km on the street with proper pressure. Michelin provides a middle of the road recommendation on tire pressure so factor in the weight of the bike and rider as well. The 190 profiles well on a 5.5 rim where any other manufacture need a 6" rim or a 180/60.......Power GP 2 when it comes would be nice with a little more rubber thickness in the middle for longer street life, and wider soft rubber sides like the Cup 2.
