Getting ready to put another set on my KTM 890 Adventure R. Excellent grip in all conditions and impressive longevity for such an aggressive tire on a heavy bike.

Excellent

Hi Todd, Thank you for the review of the MICHELIN Enduro Medium tire. These exceptional grippy tires are homologated for street use, however not designed for prolonged use in a single journey. Please note that they are no longer intended for use on the public highway when used in conjunction with our MICHELIN Bib Mousse.

I cannot tell yet. The outside lugs to seem to lock into corners but also makes it a littel swimmy on and offroad. I should not expect this front tire to be a great ODOT on road tire too...or can I?

Too Swimmy?

Hi Jimmy, thanks for your positive feedback on the performance in a number of conditions of the MICHELIN® Enduro Medium tires that are original equipment on your Sherco motorcycle. As you know, Sherco motorcycles are a European brand with strong market share in many parts of the world and the tires chosen for the bike are related to the FIM requirements for Enduro / Off-Road competition in Europe where the maximum knob height is 13mm. For the soft and wet conditions often found in the NC/SC/GA area, we would recommend either the MICHELIN® StarCross® 5 Medium or the MICHELIN StarCross 5 Soft terrain tires whose taller knobs will provide the additional traction in the muddy, loamy conditions.

My bike came with these tires from the factory. On dry hard pack clay, this tire hooks up very well. If the ground has some moisture in it(no dust and no mud) it still had pretty good bite. When it’s muddy, this tire packs full very quickly and it becomes a giant slip and slide. I suspect this is due to the short height of the knobbies. Id say this is not a good tire in loamy conditions. Also, I’d say this tire doesn’t brake very well unless it’s quite dry. It performs very well in rock gardens. Though. When I changed out the tires, I noticed the carcass is very pliable, and I suspect this tire would perform much better in all conditions with a mousse. Even with the lack of wet condition performance, I was still pleasantly surprised with it overall. I would not hesitate to run this in a dry hard pack harescramble, of which there are plenty here in the NC/SC/GA area.
